Born in 1962, the book resembles the author. Da Chen has 2 older sisters, Si and Ke, and 1 older brother, Jin. Si, Ke, and Jin, are all farmers since they never had a chance to recieve education. Their hands are callouced from working the rice field, while Da Chen stayed inside studying. While Da's siblings ate rice and soup, Da ate meat.
Soon after finishing the college exam, Da Chen proceeded to attend the illustrious Beijing University of Liberal Arts. There, he remained the top in his class. At the age of 23, he went to America to attend Columbia University School of Law. So far, Da has written 4 books, all awarding winning. His latest book Brothers, tells a story of two children, one who lives in luxury, the other in poverty, one who seeks to please his father, and one to see revenge.
